Basics
What does Doc Scanner do?
It takes a photo of a page (camera or upload), finds the edges when it can, straightens perspective, reduces fold shadows a bit, applies a “scanned” look (grayscale / B&W / enhanced color), and lets you save or share the result.
Are my documents uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser tab. ToolsAre.Us does not receive your photos for scanning.
Can I use the phone camera on the site?
Yes — tap Take photo, allow camera access, frame the page, then Capture.
Crop & straighten
What is Auto crop?
The tool estimates the four corners of the page from edges in the photo and warps the page flat. It works best when the paper contrasts with the background.
How do I crop manually?
Choose Manual corners, then drag the four purple handles to the page corners. The scan updates as you move them.
What is Full image?
Skips cropping and processes the entire photo (useful if auto crop is wrong and you do not want handles yet).
Scanned look & folds
Can photos look like a real scan?
Yes — try Grayscale scan or Black & white, raise contrast, and use Flatten folds. Results depend on lighting and focus.
What does Flatten folds do?
It evens out local brightness so creases and uneven shadows are less obvious. It cannot remove a physical fold line completely.
Saving
How do I save to camera roll / Photos?
On many phones, Save / Share opens the system share sheet — choose Save Image or Photos. You can also Download JPG and save from your files app.
Multiple pages?
Upload several images or capture more than once. Tap a thumbnail to switch pages, then save each scan.
