Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ToolsAre.Us ("we", "us", "the site") handles information when you use our website and the free tools hosted on it (collectively, the "Services"). We aim to collect as little as possible. By using the Services you agree to the practices described here.

The short version

Information we collect

Information you provide. If you email us (for example at [email protected]), we receive whatever you choose to include in that message. We use it only to respond to you. If you use the tool suggestion form, we collect your name, email address, and the details of your idea so we can review the request and contact you. Submissions are stored on our server and may also generate an email notification to us. We do not sell this information or use it for marketing lists.

Tool content. Text, images, files, and other content you use inside a tool are processed locally in your browser. We do not receive or retain that content. Some tools save your preferences or recent input in your browser's local storage so the tool is more convenient on your next visit — this stays on your device and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.

Automatically collected information. When you visit, our web server and content-delivery provider (Cloudflare) automatically record standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you request, referring pages, and the date and time of access. This is used to operate the site, keep it secure, and understand aggregate traffic. It is not used to personally identify you.

First-party usage stats. Public pages may send a simple hit notice to our own server (/hit.php) so the site owner can see approximate page views, which tools are popular, and whether visitors return on later days. We store a one-way hash derived from technical data (not a marketing profile) and page paths. This is not Google Analytics and is not sold to third parties. You can block it with browser extensions that stop scripts; the tools still work without it.

Cookies and local storage

A cookie is a small file placed on your device. We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect how the tools remember your preferences.

When you first visit, we show a short cookie and advertising notice. Your Accept or Decline choice is stored in your browser (local storage key toolsare_consent) so we do not ask on every page load. You can clear site data in the browser to see the notice again.

Shared tools. A few tools intentionally store data on our servers so other people can open the same link — for example Watch Together rooms, RSVP guest lists, and shared countdowns. Those tools say so on their own pages. Do not put secrets in shared links.

Advertising and third parties

We may display advertising on this site to keep the tools free. When we do, third-party vendors — including Google — use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

For more information on how Google collects and uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage (such as which tools are popular). Where used, analytics data is aggregated and not used to identify individual visitors.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to opt out of personalized advertising. Because we do not maintain user accounts or store the content you put into the tools, most requests relate to advertising cookies, which you can manage using the opt-out links above. For anything else, contact us and we will do our best to help.

Children's privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Data security and retention

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the site. Traffic is served over HTTPS. Because the tools process your content locally and we don't store it, there is very little personal data for us to retain. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
